A stadium cheers for socialism

All freedom-loving people should be fanatics about seeing their hometown pro-football team lose big.

After all, almost every team (with its stadium) is a grotesque example of government outside its proper limits.

Huge team losses are the only reason many people will ever do the right thing and separate government from sports.

Privatization of a local stadium will only occur if the team performs so badly that fans forsake the games.

In other words, many fans will only do the right thing for the wrong reasons.

Many fans will never do the right thing for the right reasons - to preserve limited government, free market economics and individual liberty.

Instead, they will only do so if their team fails to perform.

So as long as the team performs well (or even mediocre), many fans will brainlessly embrace socialism, taxation and any other affront to fundamental principles and liberty.

It is important for hometown teams to suffer huge losses for Stadiums to be sold.

A Government-owned stadium is a visible, emotional and, for many, a subliminal symbol of taxation and socialism. The separation of sport and state is as important as the separation of church and state.
